Congratulations to everyone that participated today. Athletes, you smashed it. Judges and volunteers, thank you!! Day 1 was a huge success!! Very excited for Day 2!!

But I regress. First things first. This competition is being scored much like golf, low score wins. You win an event? Your score is a 1. Second place? A 2. And so on and so forth. So….After the events from Day 1, the scoreboard looks like this:

Ladies:
1   Keila – 3 (1/1/1)
2  Brandy – 8 (2/2/4)
3  Julia – 9 (4/3T/2)
4  Yuri – 12 (3/3T/6)
5T  Manon – 14 (5/6/3)
5T  Sharon – 14 (6/3T/5)
7  Danielle – 21 (7/7/7)

Gents:
1   Tweet 8 (1/6T/1)
2  Colt 11 (5/1/5)
3  Jason 13 (3/3T/7)
4  Brandon S. 14 (8/2/4)
5  Theron 15 (7/6T/2)
6  Nick 16 (4/3T/9)
7  John T. 18 (9/6T/3)
8T   Michael 22 (6/10T/6)
8T  Jim 22 (2/10T/10)
10  Matt 30 (10/9/11)
11  Justin M. 31 (12/11/8)
12  Justin W. 38 (12/12/8)
13  Sam 27 (11/3T/13DNS)

Your total scores plus your placing for each event. Make sense?

WOD 3 – Floater
To be done by all athletes during the hours of 9am and 1pm.

Day 2 Workouts:

#1 – 6minute AMRAP of burpees and…….? News flash, it’s not walking lunges….

Athlete will start at “50 yard line” on top of their designated plate. At the call of “3,2,1.. GO!” the athlete will step back and complete 7 burpees, each time placing both feet on top of the plate simultaneously. Each burpee counts for 1 rep. At the completion of 7 burpees, the athlete will run 5 yards, touch the designated line with at least 1 hand (=1rep), run back 10 yards, touch the designated line with at least 1 hand (=1rep) and finish the round by running 5 yards and returning to the center, on top of their plate (=1rep). Thus, there is a total of 10 reps possible per round.

#2 – ‘DT’ Ladder. 115#/75#. 3/6/9/12…. reps of each- Deadlift, Hand Power Clean, Push Jerk. How far can you go in 12minutes?

From a standing position, at the call of “3,2,1, GO!” the athlete will then deadlift the barbell three times. After fully extending the knees and hips of that third and final deadlift, the athlete re-dips and initiates the first hang power clean, bringing the barbell to the rack position with elbows in front of the bar and knees/hips extended once again. Two more times here. Once that third and final HPC has been completed and the bar is still on the shoulders, the athlete can go directly into the jerk. Dipping and driving that bar overhead, you may (highly recommended) utilize a re-bend of the knees and drop underneath the barbell. While the BB is overhead, you must extend your knee/hips/arms, bring your feet under your shoulders, and demonstrate control. If your judge cannot see all points of extension and visibly locate your ear in front of your arm, this will be grounds for a no-rep call. Once 3 deadlifts, 3 hang power cleans, and 3 Jerks have been completed, you will progress to 6 DL, 6 HPC, and 6 Jerks. Then 9/9/9, 12/12/12, 15/15/15, etc… Remember, in going from the DL to the HPC, you do not have to return your last DL to the ground, you simply must distinguish the two movements by extending your DL completely prior to going into your HPC. Same rule applies when going from HPC to Jerk, you must stand your final rep up completely and re-initiate your dip for the jerk. Plan your breaks in movement carefully here….

#3 (Floater) – Max tire flips in 90 seconds.

Our structured heats will be done by Noon. You have until 1pm to complete the floater workout. We will have our awards ceremony at 1:30pm. Please bring some grub, drinks, your family, a lawn chair, whatever you like and hang out after the competition!!
