Good job to everyone that participated this weekend!! The winner will be announced early this week.
Well, our first official Paleo Challenge has come to an end… but we hope that all of you have taken home so much more. We hope that you have committed to a few new lifestyle changes. We have seen so many of you enter into a world of not only looking better, but feeling and performing better.
In all honesty, if we had to shut our doors tomorrow, it has been totally worth it just to know that we played a small part in the amazing 180 degree turn in Justin’s blood work. For those of you that haven’t heard…… let me tell you an amazing story.
Justin started with us on September 14, a mere 2 months ago. Coincidentally, he had a complete blood panel done in August, which was one of the main reasons he did start with us…. He was informed in August of this:
Cholesterol = 335
Triglyceride = 254
HDL = 52
LDL = 246
After complete dedication to the Paleo diet and doing CrossFit at least 5 x week, WOW!!
His new numbers are:
Cholesterol = 231 (down 104 points!!)
Triglyceride = 132 (down 122 points!)
HDL = 51 (This is the “good” cholesterol, it is awesome that he maintained this #)
LDL = 154 (down 92 points)
Are you f@ck%ng kidding me?!?!
This is AMAZING. This is what it is all about.
If you see Justin, please congratulate him. It is much easier to deny our current state and turn the other cheek than to own up to where we are at and have the guts to do something about it.
I am so proud of you Justin. Good job man.
30 reps Squat Clean and Jerk (155/105)
The barbell goes from ground to overhead, passing through a front squat in which the crease of the hip passes below the height of the kneecap. The finish position is with the arms, hips and knees fully extended, arms overhead, with at least a portion of the ear visible in front of the arm. Dropping the barbell is acceptable.
