Thruster 3-3-3-3-3-3-3

Shane Um taking a nice, deep belly breath prior to lift-off.

We are definitely fans of inhaling a large volume of air prior to heavy lifts. This is often referred to as the “Valsalva Maneuver“. Applying this technique will increase the rigidity of your torso, making it easier to support heavy loads. Keeping your spine in a neutral while stable position is critical to both safety and progression.

Try it today on your thrusters. Unrack, step back, big belly breath, down (abdomen/spine still rigid), explode up while finding exhalation point near top of position.

REMINDER: Tomorrow (Sunday, April 15) our 11am-1pm class will be held at the pool at CMU.

Be sure to check out our UPCOMING EVENTS tab. We have a ton of fun events coming up… like Travel workouts (CMU, CrossFit Agoge), Dodgeball Tournaments, Nutrition Lectures, Upcoming CF Competitions in Colorado….. etc….!!
