Marine Corps Hymn

From the Halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean:
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.
Our flag’s unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job
The United States Marines.
Here’s health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we’ve fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.

It is with teary eyes that I inform you that our girl Bethanie has been accepted into USMC OCS (Officer Candidate School). At the ripe old age of 30 she has had to jump through quite a few hoops to show that she is committed to the cause. She has worked SO hard and I am ridiculously proud of her. Her badass-ness will be greatly missed. She will be leaving us near the end of May so keep an eye out for the going away party. Be sure to keep us posted on all of your worldly travels B-Dawg.

Get in on the last workout of the CrossFit Games Open tomorrow night at 6pm. BBQ will immediately follow. It’s looking like we’ll provide the food and just charge a nominal fee at the door. BYOB.

  1. Thats awesome news Bethanie, and all of us know how hard you’ve been working at this goal! I know Autumn and I are both looking forward to hearing about all your successes in the USMC starting with this one!

    As for the BBQ I like my steak to be lightly seasoned and flipped only five times until it’s a tad pink inside. Little more the medium well but not quite well done. I also like my A1 slightly chilled, but not tooo cold. I’d assume this is all easily attainable with the proposed 25 cent cover charge.

  2. Congratulations Bethanie on your awesome accomplishment. We are all going to miss you and the motivation you bring every day.

  3. Way to go Bethanie!! I knew they would accept you!! Come and see us before you leave!! Congratulations!!

  4. Congrats Bethanie!! I’ll be looking for party info to say goodbye in person! I grew up next to Camp Pendelton and am still in awe of Marines!!
