What is ‘Triple Extension’ and why is it so important to you as an athlete?  Great question Autumn!!. You hear me drop “full extension” all of the time when discussing full range of motion on many of our movements. In regards to your Olympic lifts (Clean/Snatch)…. coming to full extension or achieving triple extension is muy importante. Triple extension movements involve three major joints: hip, knee, and ankle. These three joints, when moved from the bent (flexed) to straight (extended) position, create the explosiveness needed to perform the majority of power moves in sport.  These movements certainly aren’t limited to the Olympic lifts. Just think of jumping high to catch a line drive that’s just out of your reach, or jumping up to spike a volleyball, or coming off a jump while skiing or shredding.  Explosively achieving triple extension will make a big difference in the amount of weight that you can lift in CrossFit (because we are totally about the ability to move large loads, long distances, quickly) and will directly carry over to every sport that you play in life.

  1. Just a post to let everyone know that Beth made it back to Virginia okay the morning of June 2nd. So it will be three weeks before anymore news.Will keep everyone informed.
